Amendment of Prohibition of Waiting and Introduction of New Prohibition of Waiting: Smith Street, Walkden Order 2007
Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by virtue of The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (City of Salford) Order 2001 (Statutory Instrument 2001 No. 894) made by the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions pursuant to Schedule 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1991.
When the order comes into effect The City of Salford (Smith Street/Harriet Street, Walkden) (Revocation and Amendment of Prohibition of Waiting and Introduction of New Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2000 will be amended insofar as it relates to schedule 1 below.
When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle to wait on the length of road specified in schedule 2 below.
When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle except a vehicle displaying the relevant parking permit to wait on the length of road specified in schedule 3 below.
The order will contain exceptions to permit waiting for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles.
A copy of the proposed order together with a plan of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford M27 5DA, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing to the Assistant Director (Legal), Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford M27 5DA by the 22 February 2007 (quoting reference H/LH/SM/C/PD/RTO/2581).
Schedule 1
Amend:Smith Street, north side, from the eastern kerbline of Harriet Street for a distance of 16 metres in a westerly direction.
To read:Smith Street, north side, from the eastern kerbline of Harriet Street for a distance of 47 metres in a westerly direction.
Amend:Smith Street, south side, from the western kerbline of Harriet Street for a distance of 11 metres in a westerly direction.
To read:Smith Street, south side from the western kerbline of Harriet Street for a distance of 7 metres in a westerly direction.
Schedule 2
Introduction of no waiting at any time:
Smith Street, south side, from a point 22 metres west of the western kerbline of Harriet Street for a distance of 20 metres in a westerly direction.
Schedule 3
Introduction of permit holders only parking bay:
Smith Street, south side, from a point 7 metres west of the western kerbline of Harriet Street for a distance of 15 metres in a westerly direction.
