Southbourne Street - Middlebourne Street Gating Order Notice
Salford City Council
Highways Act 1980, Section 129A
Salford City Council (Middlebourne Street, Southbourne Street, and Ashley Street, Salford)
Gating Order 2007
Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under section 129A of the Highways Act 1980.
When the order comes into effect the public right of way over the highways specified in the schedule below and shown on the plan annexed to the draft order shall be restricted at all times.
The right of way will not be restricted for use by the occupiers of premises adjoining or adjacent to the relevant highways. Occupiers will retain their right of way by access to keys to the lockable gates.
The council are satisfied that it is expedient to make an order for the purposes of reducing crime or anti-social behaviour on the highway.
The alleyway is 88.98m in length. It does not offer a short cut, an alternative route would be to use the pavement to the front of the affected properties.
A copy of the proposed order together with a plan outlining the restrictions and evidence supporting the need for the order may by inspected at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive. Details can be viewed online at www.salford.gov.uk/trafficorders.
Any representations or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the City Solicitor, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA by the 29th November 2007 (quoting reference H/RC/HS/SEO/9879).
