Temporary weight restriction maximum gross weight 18 tonne: Station Road Bridge Order 2009

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford intend in not less than seven days to make an order the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary weight restriction maximum gross weight 18 tonne as detailed in the schedule below.

A licensed dispensation for buses and emergency vehicles will apply.

The order is required to protect a weak bridge until remedial works are carried out to strengthen the structure and will commence on 8 March 2009 for a period of 10 years until 8 March 2019. The authority shall revoke the order as soon as the works have been completed.

The alternative route for the vehicles will be via Bolton Road and Swinton Hall Road.

Plans showing the areas affected by the proposed order may be inspected at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA during normal office hours.  (Ref H/RAB/RTT/UV/243).

  • Station Road, Swinton between its junction with Cromwell Road and Boundary Road.
