Gating Order 2007
On 12th January 2007 the Council of the City of Salford made the above-mentioned Order under Section 129A of the Highways Act 1980.
The Order which comes into effect on 19th January 2007 restricts the public right of way over the highways specified in the schedule below at all times.
The right of way is not restricted for use by the occupiers of premises adjoining or adjacent to the relevant highways. Occupiers retain their right of way by access to keys to the lockable gates.
The alternative route for members of the public will be via the pavements on Weaste Road, Tootal Road, and Laurel Grove, as opposed to the alleyways.
A copy of the Order together with a plan outlining the restrictions may by inspected at the Legal Section, Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive. Details can also be viewed online at www.salford.gov.uk/gatingorders. (H/JLW/HS/SEO/8563)
If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions contained in it on the grounds that is it not within the powers conferred by the Highways Act 1980 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within 6 weeks from 18th January 2007 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
