Highways Act 1980 - Section 116 and Twelfth Schedule
Notice is hereby given that the council of the City of Salford in exercise of the powers conferred on them, intend to apply to the magistrates' court at Bexley Square, Salford on Tuesday 23 June 2009 at 9.45am for an Order pursuant to Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the diversion of Worsley Definitive Footpath 31 as described in Part 1 of the Schedule below and the creation of an alternative footpath as described in Part 2 of the Schedule below on the grounds that it is more commodious to the public.
The effect of the proposed Order is described in the Schedule below and shown on the plan dated 7 May 2009 and certified as correct by the Director of Engineering, Urban Vision and which has been deposited and which may be inspected free of charge at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday (Ref. H/ME/UV/STC/145). Details can be viewed online.

Part 1
The diversion of Worsley Definitive Footpath 31 from point 'A' to the rear of 268 Walkden Road, Worsley and continuing past points 'B-C-D-E' to point 'F' between 76 and 78 Ash Grove, Worsley as indicated by a broken black line on the above deposited plan, a total closure area of approximately 504 square metres.
Part 2
The creation of a new footpath from point ‘A’ to the rear of 268 Walkden Road, Worsley and continuing in a north easterly direction to point ‘D’ and ending at the point marked 'F' between 76 and 78 Ash Grove, Worsley as indicated by a solid black line on the above deposited plan, an approximate width of 1.8 metres.
