Civic Centre, Swinton Off-Street Parking Places Order 2004

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford propose to make an order under Sections 32(1), 33(4), 35(1), 35(3) and 63A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by virtue of the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (City of Salford) Order 2001(Statutory Instrument 2001No. 894) made by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, pursuant to schedule 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1991.

When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle, except a vehicle displaying a relevant pass card, to wait between the hours of 7.00am to 7.00pm, Monday to Friday, on the designated off-street parking places specified in schedule 1 below.

When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle to wait, between the hours of 7.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, except for the purposes of loading/unloading, on the designated areas specified in schedule 2 below. Waiting for the purposes of loading/unloading shall be limited to a period of 30 minutes (with no return within 1 hour).

When the order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle to wait between the hours of 7.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, for a period exceeding 2 hours (with no return on the same calendar day) on the designated off-street parking places specified in schedule 3 below.

When the order comes into effect any vehicle left during the hours of operation on the designated off-street parking places specified in schedule 3, for a period exceeding 2 hours shall be subject to a charge of £1.00 per hour. This charge shall not apply to any vehicle displaying a relevant pass card.

A copy of the proposed order, together with plans of the areas and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order, may be examined at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 4.30pm, Mondays to Fridays, inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed order, you should send the grounds of your objection in writing, to the Head of Law and Administration, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5DA, by 21 October 2004 (quoting reference H/JLW//PD/RTO/1286).

Schedule 1

Introduction of off-street parking places – pass card holders only

  • Access road surrounding the Civic Centre, Phase 1 and 2

Schedule 2

Introduction of loading and unloading only - 30 minutes with no return within one hour

  • Area to the rear of the Civic Centre, Phase 1
  • Area adjacent to the Computer Centre

Schedule 3

Introduction of charges for any vehicle waiting for a period exceeding 2 hours (except for pass card holders)

  • Civic Centre Visitors Car Park
