Garden Street and Union Street (amendment of prohibition of waiting and introduction of new prohibition of waiting)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Salford propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2 and 4 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and by virtue of The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (City of Salford) Order 2001 (Statutory Instrument 2001, No. 894) made by the Secretary of State for Environment, Transport and the Regions pursuant to Schedule 3 of the Road Traffic Act 1991.

When the Order comes into effect The Greater Manchester County (Church Street and Union Street, Swinton) (Prohibition of Waiting) (City) Order 1980 will be amended insofar as it relates to Schedule 1 below.

When the Order comes into effect you will not be allowed to cause or permit any vehicle to wait at any time on the length of road specified in Schedule 2 below.

The Order will contain exceptions to permit waiting for certain purposes and limited waiting by disabled persons' vehicles.

A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan of the area and a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at the Legal Section, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds of your objection, in writing, to the Head of Law and Administration, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, by the 9th  day of October  2003 (quoting reference H/ECP/RTO/ECP10)

AMENDMENT OF

THE GREATER MANCHESTER COUNTY (CHURCH STREET AND UNION STREET, SWINTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING) (CITY) ORDER 1980

Insofar as it relates to:

Union Street, Swinton, both sides, from its junction with Chorley Road in a south westerly direction for a distance of 57 metres.

To read:

Union Street, north side, from its junction with Chorley Road in a south westerly direction for a distance of 85 metres.

Union Street, south side, from its junction with Chorley Road in a south westerly direction for a distance of 57 metres.

SCHEDULE 2

Garden Street, west side, from the southern kerbline of Crompton Street in a north westerly direction for a distance of 35 metres.

Garden Street, east side, from its junction with Crompton Street in a north westerly direction to its junction with Union Street.
