Value for money
Value for Money identifies the cost of a service and determines how this cost compares to other similar services. This enables us to determine if value for money is being achieved.
We assess value for money using the following tools:
| Value for money measure | How we assess this |
|---|---|
| Cost of service | The amount you are being paid: unit cost/cost per support hour |
| Is this cost reasonable? | Benchmarking against similar services locally, regionally and nationally |
| What is the value of the service? | Strategic relevance/client record forms |
| Does the service achieve value for money? | Quality Assessment Framework and Performance Indicators/outcomes the service has achieved |
The information gathered is used in contract appraisals, negotiations and the tendering of new services.
