Walkden

Walkden is situated approximately seven miles north west of Manchester City Centre. According to the United Kingdom Census 2001, Walkden had a total resident population of 38,685.

Walkden town centre is one of three town centres in the west of Salford and one of four in the city as a whole. It is situated at the junction of the A6 Manchester Road and the A575 Bolton Road. The town centre is characterised by a large shopping precinct, with smaller traditional businesses and amenities located within its immediate vicinity.
