Worried your child is having difficulties?
What can I do if I am worried about my child’s behaviour?
- Remember you know your child better than anyone else.
- If you have any worries you should get advice straight away.
- If your child is not yet at school or going to an early education setting, talk to your doctor or health visitor.
- If your child is at school or going to an early years setting you should talk to your child’s class teacher first.
- You may also ask to speak to the special needs co-ordinator (SENCO) who has responsibility for co-ordinating help for children with special educational needs.
- You may decide to go to the head teacher.
- Working together with you child’s teachers will often help to sort out worries and problems.
If you feel you either need more advice or just want to talk through what school is doing to help your child you can always telephone the Parent Partnership Service on 0161 778 0349/0343.
