What we do

Young woman rock climbing

Youth services is an informal education service, working with young people aged 11 to 25 years. Our priority age range is 13 to 19 years.

Our role is to support young people's personal and social development as they move on from childhood to become responsible young adults.

We recognise that each young person is an individual, with different needs and aspirations, so we provide informal activities and youth work programmes in a range of settings. This might be in youth centres, detached work, specialist projects, in schools or with other partners.

Our youth workers work alongside young people, building positive relationships based on trust and respect. This enables them to deliver programmes of work that are flexible, and responsive to the needs of young people.

All our work with young people is based on a commitment to equal opportunities and young people's active participation and empowerment.

For more information on activities for young people, see the wuu2 website.
