Salford Veterans Memorial Garden

Buy a veteran plaque for the memorial wall

As part of the Salford Veterans Memorial Garden project at Swinton Cenotaph, a public memorial wall is to be established facing the sunken garden in memory of those men and women with links to Salford who served in HM Armed Forces or the Merchant Navy, either as Regulars, Territorial Army or Reservists, National Servicemen or conscripted during wartime, and who are no longer with us.

Through the Salford Veterans Association, in partnership with M and A Brown Signs of Worsley, relatives can now purchase a six inch by four inch aluminium plaque with their family member's name, regiment, corps or service, year of birth and year of death on it for £50, which includes a small donation towards the memorial garden project.

An application form can be downloaded or printed below. For further information, please contact Glenn Croston on 07932488390.

The Salford Veterans Memorial Garden was unveiled at Swinton Cenotaph on Tuesday 1 November 2022.

The service was conducted by Father Jeremy Sheehy and Father Ian Hall.

The project has been developed by the Salford Veterans Association supported by Salford City Council. The aim of the project is to transform the existing garden and seating area into a veterans memorial garden in the heart of Swinton.
