The premises will have an alarm installed with signs outside to alert the public that the premises is protected when closed or empty. Additionally, we will have CCTV cameras operating at all times inside and outside the premises with signs stating that CCYV footage is being recorded 24 hours. The staff will also ensure that the office that will house the safe and also the CCTV monitors and recording devices should be kept locked and secured whilst the premises are open to the public. CCTV is installed inside and outside the premises. The cameras cover all internal areas accessible to the public and areas immediately outside the premises. The date and time settings on the system will be live and recorded and stored on a hard drive for a minimum of 31 days in line with GDPR and will be available ni to authorities should there be need for a review of the footage. Staff will be trained in the maintenance and operation of such systems with a record kept of the date and name of person trained. Records will be made available for inspection by the police or licensing authority and there will always be a trained member of staff to operate the system whenever the premises are open. The premises will have Door staff and/or stewards employed to supervise admissions and customers inside the venue. The number of door supervisors will be determined by a risk assessment taking into account the size of crowd each particular day will attract, but at the very least we will have a ratio of 1 door supervisor per 50 customers. As a Company that promotes equality great consideration will be given to having at least one female door supervisor to be able to do body searches on the female customers. All door supervisors will follow our door admissions policy which include any age restrictions, expected dress standards and screening of handbags. This will be widely publicised on any promotional material, social media platforms and website that we promote our premises and clearly displayed |
Public safety |
We will have clearly documented policies and procedures in place which identify all public safety risks associated with our premises and measures implemented to prevent, manage and respond to those risks. We will carry out a full risk assessment taking into account public safety at the premises which will identify potential hazards posed to staff or customers and setting out precautions to manage the hazards. This risk assessment will be regularly reviewed at least every 12 months. The DPS and Bar Manager will ensure that all staff are aware of the risk assessment and precautionary measures therein. A copy of the risk assessment will be kept at the premises and made available for inspection. On the floor plan we have also detailed the areas where First aid boxes will be available at the premises and maintained with sufficient in date stock. On every shift we will ensure that we have at least one First aid qualified member of staff who and the other staff will be trained to a basic first aid standard with records kept of the date and name of person trained. Management will also ensure that the premises is adequately heated and ventilated to avoid this any risk of harm to customers due to bad. We will conduct Annual gas safety check; electrical check; ensure that all appliances are PAT tested (portable electrical appliance testing); carry out an asbestos survey of premises; employers and public liability insurance will be in place; there will be sufficient lighting internally and externally; staff will carry out regular fire checks and servicing of fire detection and extinguishing equipment will be carried out; as stated above Ak lounge will also have emergency procedures in place and the premises has two fire exits one on either side of the building to ensure that people can leave the building safely should there be an emergency; there will also be a designated smoking areas outside and no smoking or Vaping will be allowed inside the premises. |
The prevention of public nuisance |
We will also have clear signposts informing customers to enter and leave the premises in an orderly fashion and clearly documented policies and procedures in place which identify all public nuisance risks associated with our premises and measures implemented to prevent, manage and respond to those risks. We will also engage with local residents on a regular basis to ensure that we are being good neighbours and dealing with problems as they arise by ensuring that we hear what our neighbours have to say. A noise management policy will be in place that sets out sound attenuation measures to prevent or control music, singing and speech noise breakout from the premises. Windows and doors will be kept closed whilst the premises licence is in use to prevent noise breakout. Management will also carry out a Noise monitoring exercise regularly and also when a complaint is made directly to the venue. For close neighbours we will also provide a contact telephone number which they can use to report noise disturbances to a responsible person at the premises as and when they occur. We will also restrict the use of external areas after 10pm and the door supervisors or staff will regularly monitor and manage external areas to ensure that customers are not causing a disturbance to local residents. |
The protection of children from harm |
Protection of children from harm With this in mind we will have clearly documented policies and procedures in place which identify all age restricted risks at our premises and measures implemented to prevent, manage and respond to those risks. A documented policy will be in place setting out measures to protect children from harm. The policy will consider all activities associated with our premises including the sale of alcohol and the provision of regulated entertainment and when children should be allowed on or restricted from the premises. All staff including door staff and bar staff will be trained on the policy and restrict access to children at a specified time in the evening and during the day the admittance of children can only be permitted if they are accompanied by an adult. We will also operate a strict No ID - No Sale policy. Following the Challenge 21 scheme serves as a reminder to staff of the need to be vigilant in preventing underage sales and to customers that it is against the law for anyone under 18 to purchase alcohol. We will further enforce the Challenge 25 scheme which further gives staff additional support and encouragement to ask for ID from any person appearing to be under 25 years of age to prove that they are over 18. Only acceptable photographic driving licences, passports or PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) cards will be approved as means of ID. If we accept other forms of ID such as EU National ID cards, staff will ensure that these bear a photograph, date of birth and holographic mark. At the entrance and within the premises we will prominently advertise the above schemes so that customers are aware, in particular, we will display proof of age signs at the point of sale. |
