Why you should set up a Direct Debit

Help us to help you. You can make your life easier, save paper and save us money by using Direct Debit to pay your business rates bill.

It’s the quickest, safest and easiest way to pay and means you won’t have to worry about late payments, reminders or summons. It also helps keep our print and postage costs down so we can spend our limited funds in more effective ways to help residents.

To set up your Direct Debit, you will need your business rates reference number along with your bank account number and sort code.

The benefits of Direct Debit

Not only does paying by Direct Debit save the council money, but it also makes life easier for you too. Benefits include:

  • If your annual bill changes, the monthly payment amount will automatically update
  • There's no postage to pay
  • It saves queuing up in the Post Office or corner shop
