This is a timetable of activities held at North Salford Children's Centre (Swinton Gateway) and venues in the community.

Tuesday 9.30am to 11am Well baby clinic Swinton Gateway

Drop in session led by the Health Visiting team, an opportunity to check your baby is healthy (including having their weight checked) and ask any questions. No need to book just pop in.

Tuesday 1pm to 2pm Baby play Swinton Gateway

Baby Play emphasises the importance of increasing babies and toddlers’ day to day physical development supporting their all round health and development. For babies until walking confidently. £1 donation per family.

Tuesday 2pm to 3pm Baby's first foods Swinton Gateway

An informative session which answers your questions on when, why and how to start your baby onto solid food. Practical  demonstration. Second Tuesday of each month. 

Wednesday 9.30am to 10.30am Stay and play together Swinton Gateway

Fun and exciting session for you and your children to get involved in together. Indoor, outdoor, messy and fun activities for you and your child to share and enjoy. Facilitated by qualified staff who are on hand to offer support and advice. No need to book. £1 donation per family.

Wednesday 4.30pm to 6.30pm Antenatal sessions Swinton Gateway and Ingleside Birth Centre

Six week course. To book a place, call 0161 778 0495.

Thursday 9.30am to 10.30am Stay and play together Swinton Gateway

Fun and exciting session for you and your children to get involved in together. Indoor, outdoor, messy and fun activities for you and your child to share and enjoy. Facilitated by qualified staff who are on hand to offer support and advice. No need to book. £1 donation per family.

Thursday 10am to 12pm Getting to know your baby (Baby Incredible Years) Swinton Gateway

An eight week session block for parents and their babies which focuses on bonding and attachment and keying into babies cues. It’s an interactive group where parents come together to support each other as they get to know their baby and learn fun activities to develop learning. Please contact the centre or speak to your health visitor to book a place. 

Thursday Contact the centre Incredible Years Parenting Programme Swinton Gateway

Do you need help with your child’s challenging behaviour? If the answer is yes, then the Incredible years parenting programme course is for you. Ring us to find out how to apply and learn many strategies to help you deal with those challenges ahead. Please contact the centre if you are interested.

Friday 9.30am to 11am Well baby clinic with drop-in infant feeding support Clifton Community Centre

Come to play and meet other parents. Infant feeding support available including breast feeding advice from the Health Visiting Team and trained Early Help Practioners. No need to book, just pop in.

Friday 10am to 11am Baby massage Clifton Community Centre

Please ring the centre from 8.30am on the morning of the session to book a place.

Friday 10am to 12pm Incredible Years Parenting - school age Swinton Gateway

Parenting courses and support is available, including Webster Stratton Incredible Years/Getting To Know Your Baby. Please speak to a member of the team for more information.

Come and see Five to Thrive come alive at your local children’s centre. Five things you do every day that help your child’s growing brain. The centre offer home visits based around the Five to Thrive Approach and all our sessions follow this approach also. Ask a member of staff for more details.

Wellcomm - A toolkit that assesses where your child’s speech and language development levels lie. A home visit that can offer early intervention to support your child’s communication skills. Please contact the centre for more details, if interested.

Would you like to read more with your children? Ask about our Bookstart corner project, which includes free book packs.

There is a toy library where you can come along to borrow toys and story sacks. Please speak to a member of staff. £1 per item per week.

Free childcare - two, three and four year old funding available with local nurseries. If you need help applying please ask a member of staff at the centre and they will be happy support you with your application.
