How parents are involved

  • Are you a parent/carer with a child under five?
  • Do you want to be involved in the decision making process?
  • If so we have several ways you can be involved.

Advisory board

Our advisory board is a way for all agencies to get together to make decisions on the services we provide to the local community. We welcome parents on the advisory board. If you are interested please contact Judith Bocock, children's centre cluster co-ordinator on 0161 604 7660.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to learn more about yourself, your likes and dislikes and your talents and abilities. You will meet other volunteers and staff members and develop new friendships. The training and experience you will gain will help you in the future, either for more volunteering or employment.

We currently have eight volunteers in the centre who work in the groups supporting the children's centre workers setting up, helping out with snacks, activities and speaking to parents. We have a waiting list of parents who want to be a volunteer and will be running our next round of recruitment in the summer.

If you are interested please contact Sandra Young, deputy children's centre manager, on 0161 604 7660.
