This page provides some resources that can support in the completion of an Early Help Assessment.
Questions and prompts that can be used with the family to gather information for each area of the assessment can be found below. While not exhaustive, these tools can help ensure that practitioners include information in the relevant sections, avoid duplication and cover each assessment area comprehensively.
A visual tool that can be used to support the scoring process can be found below. The tool is to be used as a conversation starter, having a chat and exploring the different areas on the tool.
All Early Help Assessment action plans should be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed), reflect the information contained within the assessment and include a specific review date.
In addition, there are also a number MARAM tools that can be used to assess specific issues such as neglect or parental capacity to change in greater detail.
If at any point in the assessment process safeguarding concerns arise, please call The Bridge Partnership on 0161 603 4500 for advice.
