Salford City Council have launched a new SMS text messaging service to communicate with residents in a more efficient and cost effective way.
Each month we issue thousands of reminder letters to residents for various reasons. We may need to contact residents to inform them of a payment that is overdue. We may also need to request further information to allow us to award a discount or an exemption. Sending text messages helps us reduce costs and improve the quality of services we provide.
If you've already provided us your mobile phone number there's no need to do anything.
If you haven't already provided us with your number or if you want to tell us that your number has changed or wish to opt out of this service then please use our council tax contact form.

No. The service is totally confidential. This service will not generate any other marketing or text messages to your phone and no other company or organisation will be given your number for marketing purposes.
You will only receive a text message if you have previously given us your telephone number to contact you, or if you have registered for this service.
