The OVO Energy Cycling Tour of Britain will travel through Salford on Saturday 14 September.
Britain’s biggest professional cycle race returns to Greater Manchester for the first time in 15 years and stage eight of the race starts in Altrincham. The cyclists will travel along a 165-kilometre leg and lung busting route through all ten of Greater Manchester’s boroughs before finishing on Deansgate in Manchester city centre.
The race enters Salford at Mort Lane and then Peel Lane before making its way down the A6 on Manchester Road, Chorley Road and Broad Street.
Just before The Crescent the riders will use the slip road to travel down Albion Way and then turn left at Liverpool Street.
The race then turns right on to Oldfield Road and makes a left on to Regent Road where the riders will enter Manchester for the final stretch of the stage, and complete the Tour of Britain.
