Funding to cover the cost of provision of apprenticeship training

If you want to apply for funding to cover the cost of provision of apprenticeship training for an apprentice role you need to meet the following criteria:

  • The apprentice must be a Salford resident
  • The organisation must have less than 250 employees
  • The organisation must have a Salford business address
  • The salary must be the National Living Wage rate (for 25 and over)*

*Employer must pay at least the ‘National Living Wage for 25 years of age +’ to all its employees regardless of age (from April 2019 this is £8.21 per hour) or be working towards paying their employees the Foundation Living Wage.

Funding will be prioritised to:

  • Priority groups: those not in employment, education or training; looked after children; special educational needs and disabilities; Salford futures; young offender; benefit claimants 18+
  • Key sectors: including health, social care, education, digital, construction, hospitality, business and professional services

Funding to cover the cost of provision of apprenticeship training for your existing workforce

If you want to apply for funding to cover the cost of provision of apprenticeship training for your existing workforce you need to meet the following criteria: 

  • The organisation must have less than 250 employees
  • The organisation must have a Salford business address
  • The salary must be the national living wage rate (for 25 and over)*

*Employer must pay at least the ‘National Living Wage for 25 years of age +’ to all its employees regardless of age (from April 2019 this is £8.21 per hour) or be working towards paying their employees the Foundation Living Wage.

Funding will be prioritised to:

  • Key sectors: including health, social care, education, digital, construction, hospitality, business and professional services

Funding to support with employment costs (up to £3,000 per organisation) for a new apprentice

If you want to apply for funding to support with employment costs (up to £3,000 per organisation) for a new apprentice you need to meet the following criteria:

  • The apprentice must be a Salford resident
  • The organisation must have less than 250 employees
  • The organisation must have a Salford business address
  • The salary must be the national living wage rate (for 25 and over)*
  • Organisations who have not employed an apprentice within the two years
  • The apprenticeship is a new opportunity adding to the head count of an organisation

*Employer must pay at least the ‘National Living Wage for 25 years of age +’ to all its employees regardless of age (from April 2019 this is £8.21 per hour) or be working towards paying their employees the Foundation Living Wage.
