Kickstart vacancies

The Kickstart scheme is open to 16 to 24 year olds who are claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment. If you have a work coach at the Jobcentre they will talk to you about the Kickstart Scheme, the types of placements currently available and whether the scheme is right for you.

Salford City Council

Horticulture Assistant (x3)

To assist in the development, care and maintenance of public parks, playing fields, landscaped areas and similar open spaces. The tasks include, grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning shrubs, roses, maintenance of beds, and planting of flowers.

ESOL and Digital Support Assistant

To support the ESOL Advice Service (Skills and Work Team) with Resource development and updates, ESOL assessments, community learning and social activities, and general office duties as required to support the team.

Waste and Recycling Assistant

The placement will involve assisting the team in the delivery of waste and recycling containers. Supporting the Council’s waste and recycling awareness programme which includes recycling projects and campaigns.

User Support Assistant (x3)

Our Digital, Data and Technology function helps services transform how they work and meet the needs of their users. User support engages with those services to ensure our IT systems are meeting their needs.

Early Years Assistant (Broughton Hub)

To assist the Early Years Educators within their role which support the care, learning and development of children aged 0-5 years.

Administrative Support Assistant (Democratic Services)

Democratic Services supports the council's decision making and democratic processes. Under the assistant city solicitor, it also leads on legal advice relating to corporate finance and strategic employment. The team advises on data protection and freedom of information. It implements changes to electoral law and supports information management. The role will provide general administration to support the Democratic Services Team.

Enforcement Review Assistant

You will work closely with the council’s Bus Lane Enforcement Officer, using careful judgement to ensure that traffic laws are being respected.
You will participate in administration duties associated with DVLA enquiries, issuing PCN’s and Notice to Owners, maintaining accurate records relating to the processing of penalty notices. You will actively monitor the functionality of the school keep clear and bus lane enforcement software. You will report system failures to respective providers of the software.

Catering Assistant

You will be providing assistance to the catering team through performing a variety of Hospitality and Catering activities. Including, preparing foods such as sandwiches, paninis, salads and other foods which are ready to eat. You will bake products such as pies, cakes and biscuits, make soup and simple meals.

Graphic Design and Editing Assistant

Assisting the Graphic Designer with the creation of a new brand design across two exciting, major cultural projects. Completing basic editing on projects and creating content for a new app development.

Trainee Production Assistant

Assisting the Production Coordinator and Assistant with programme.

EdStart Specialist Education

Teaching Assistant /Academic Learning Mentor

As a Teaching Assistant/Academic Learning Mentor you will help pupils overcome behavioural, social, or emotional problems that are affecting their learning.

Administration Assistant

To provide excellent customer service both face to face and over the phone and assist with all day-to-day administration duties, including the maintenance of records and information systems.

Digital Marketing Assistant

To provide support to our Marketing Consultant and contribute to digital marketing strategies, including management of social media accounts.

CSIN (Community Social Inclusion Network) Group

Guest Relations Officer

To assist the Community Manager with all tasks related to the efficient operation of the CSIN Community Hub. Assist with online training, be a part of marketing and promotion and gain admin and catering skills.

You will provide general labouring support to our team of groundworkers and have the opportunity to learn new trade skills.

HFL Building Solutions

M&E Trainee Engineer (x2)

To provide support to the onsite M&E maintenance team.

Seddon Construction Ltd

General Labourer (Middleton and Rochdale)

You will be providing general support to the site management team. Including ensuring that materials and resources are suitably located, providing gate person facilities where specifically required, ensuring that all site activities are recorded accurately. You will coordinate traffic management from material and plant deliveries. You will be responsible for day to day on-site security, maintaining welfare facilities and other general supporting duties.

All the above Kickstart positions are paid at National Minimum Wage.
