Kickstart vacancies

The Kickstart scheme is open to 16 to 24 year olds who are claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment. If you have a work coach at the Jobcentre they will talk to you about the Kickstart Scheme, the types of placements currently available and whether the scheme is right for you.

Salford Schools

We currently have 50 amazing six month paid placements with a number of primary and specialist education schools in Salford. Find out more about these unique and exciting roles for young people below:

Teaching Assistants

To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Wellbeing Activities Facilitators and Outdoor Learning Assistants

To work under the direction and supervision of teaching staff/senior staff to plan and deliver activities to undertake with pupils in the outdoor areas of the school grounds, with a particular focus on pupil wellbeing. 

School Caretakers

To work under the direction of the Site Manager/School Business Manager to carry out caretaking duties including, security, cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and monitoring of the fabric of the building.

School Gardeners

To work under the direction of the Site Manager/School Business Manager to carry out a range of duties including, the planting of the flowers, vegetables, plants, and trees, and maintaining green spaces in the school grounds.

School Administration Assistants

To undertake general office duties and provide clerical support to the School Business Manager and other members of staff where required.

ICT Technician

To work under the direction of the Information Computer Technology (ICT) Manager. Appropriate training, support and guidance will be given so that the candidate can support the ICT Manager with day-to-day ICT operational tasks across the Trust.

All the above Kickstart positions are paid at National Minimum Wage.

Facilities Support

We currently have the following six month paid placements with a number of facilities management support organisations. Find out more about these unique and exciting roles for young people below:

Knight Frank

Facilities Support Assistants

To provide support to the facilities management and reception team, including meeting and greeting visitors and answering telephone calls.

Ward Security

Security Team Assistants

To provide support to the onsite security team, including carrying out regular patrols on the estate to monitor public activity and maintain security. Report all maintenance or cleaning issues found during patrol.

The Floorbrite Group

Cleaning Team Assistant

To provide support to the building cleaning team, including being responsible for cleaning areas throughout the building using a variety of materials and equipment as instructed.

All the above Kickstart positions are paid at National Minimum Wage.
