The prevention of crime and disorder

CCTV - We have installed a 12 camera CCTV system throughout the premise, with an  advanced focus on the entrance/exit to capture clear full frame shots of the head/shoulders of anyone entering/leaving the premise.

The cameras provide clear, in-colour images and there is adequate lighting to support.

All cameras are linked to a monitoring system on the 2nd floor of the property (HQ) which is not accessible to the genera public and protected by a lockable door. Footage is recorded 24 hours, 7 days per week and is securely stored for 31 days on a hard drive located in a locked cabinet within the HQ.

This footage is easily available to local authorities upon request and can be exported onto a DVD/CD for convenience. All CCTV related equipment is regularly maintained for reliability/functionality, and any faults to the system will be repaired as soon as possible by our local supplier.

Security - All access points to the building are alarmed and guarded with electrical steel shutters, so we can be notified instantly of any intruders. The shutters are
controlled by individually assigned key fobs which only the managers/directors will possess, so that user history can be checked. All shutters will be regularly maintained to ensure reliability/ functionality and any faults will be repaired as soon as possible by our local supplier.

Other - A crime impact statement has been produced by a competent individual.

Public safety

Appropriate fire safety procedures will be in place including fire extinguishers (foam, H20 and CO2), fire blanket, internally illuminated fire exit signs, numerous smoke detectors and emergency lighting. All appliances are inspected annually. All emergency exits shall be kept free from obstruction at all times in case of an emergency. Management staff will also be attending fire safety / first aid courses to ensure that they are trained for potential emergencies. Kitchen staff will also have a minimum level 1 food hygiene certificate to show that they are competent and have an understanding of food hygiene in the kitchen.

The prevention of public nuisance

The following measures have been taken in order to prevent public nuisance:

  • A competent security contractor will be present during busy periods with an adequate number of trained guards to stop any altercations between customers or the general public.
  • The rear beer garden will have reduced opening times and close at 9.30pm. Customers in this area will be regularly reminded to keep volume to a minimal in respect of our neighbours, and this message will be reinforced with signage.
  • Entrance/exit to the rear beer garden shall be via the main entrance at the front of the property, to keep customers off the neighbouring street.
  • No music will be played in the rear beer garden so that we are not encouraging any further noise.
