Salford City Council has a well established cycle forum to promote cycling and related activities within the city.
The forum offers the opportunity for people who are interested in cycling, or the promotion of cycling to meet in a relaxed, informal, friendly atmosphere to discuss cycling related issues. Meetings are usually held quarterly at Salford Civic Centre in Swinton.
The forum has helped develop and launch the council's Local Cycling Strategy 'Encouraging Cycling' which can be downloaded below. Recently the forum members have been involved in commenting on the proposals for the Cycle City Ambition Grant (CCAG), various off road cycle routes including the Roe Green and Linnyshaw looplines as well as a number of other cycling schemes.
The forum is an opportunity for those with a local interest in cycling to share their ideas and make suggestions for improvements or new routes. If you have any suggestions for cycle routes, cycle parking or any other issue you would like to raise, come along to the next meeting or contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are unable to attend the meetings but would like to keep informed of progress we have an email distribution list, to enrol please send your name and email address to email@example.com.
We would like ideas for the future of cycling in Salford, if you have any suggestions for any new schemes, route improvements, cycle parking facilities or any other issue you would like to air, come along to the next meeting or contact firstname.lastname@example.org and share your ideas, which will then be discussed at the meeting.
The next forum will take place on Thursday 7 December at 6pm in Committee Room 3, Salford Civic Centre, Swinton.
