Salford City Council has taken the difficult decision not to accept events applications for large gatherings, events and festivals (including funfairs) on land managed by the city for the foreseeable future. An exception has been made for street markets.
Applications from our partners or Salford based organisations for smaller events or gatherings in our parks are still being considered via the event application process, and must have COVID-19 secure event plans in place.
All outdoor facilities within Salford City Council managed parks and greenspaces are now open for you to enjoy in line with government guidelines. Our priority is to keep the parks open and safe and we are doing everything we can to ensure this is the case.
Scientific advice suggest that the COVID-19 virus can survive for up to several days on some hard surfaces. The risks are reduced when outdoors, where surface may be subject to UV light and / or rain. Whilst all possible practical measures have been put in place the user of any equipment does so at their own choice and risk.
Our play areas and outdoor gyms are inspected weekly for any wear and tear or damage and the bins are emptied regularly. All play facilities were fully cleansed before opening.
To help maintain a safe distance we will not be replacing all pieces of equipment such as swings and some items may be out of use.
Don’t go to a park if you have symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19). Stay at home and self-isolate.
Guidance for using park facilities:
If you notice any damage or issues in the park please report it.
We thank you for your support and for following the guidelines.
