The decision to charge for planning applications has been made by Parliament and therefore the scale of fees is the same throughout England and Wales. Following the introduction of new regulations, from 17 January 2018 Salford City Council is applying a 20% increase on those fees. The fee should be paid when you submit your application. Payment can be made by crossed cheque, payable to Salford City Council or over the telephone on 0161 779 6195.
You can calculate the fee of your planning application using the fee calculator available at the Planning Portal.
The validation checklist is a document designed to help developers, applicants and individuals identify information required to be submitted in support of a planning application.
The validation checklist explains how to challenge a request for additional information if you consider the request(s) to be unreasonable or unnecessary. We will strive to work with applicants and developers to ensure we only request information that is needed, ie material to the decision to be made.
