The building control team continue to work remotely and there have been some minor changes to the way we deliver services:
Please provide us with as much notice as possible for all inspection requests, but in all cases a minimum of 24 hours notice is required. Please email building.control@salford.gov.uk or call 0161 779 6175 to request a site inspection during this time. All emails and messages left requesting inspections will be personally acknowledged and confirmed by a member of our team.
In line with government advice, building control staff are observing additional precautions to help prevent the risk of spreading coronavirus. Requests for inspections will only be undertaken on the understanding that:
Please advise a member of our team when booking inspections if any of the above cannot be achieved.
Please note, remote / virtual inspections (for example the use of photographs or video calls) may be appropriate in some instances.
To avoid any delay in the validation and registration of building regulation applications, all submissions should be made online via the submit-a-plan portal. A member of the building control team will contact you separately regarding payment following submission of your application. Please note we are unable to process postal submissions or payments made by cheque.
You may wish to see if your enquiry can be dealt with on our building regulations pages.
Or alternatively please email building.control@salford.gov.uk with building regulation enquiries. We aim to respond to all enquires relating to building regulations and building control within five working days but there may be occasional delays in exceptional circumstances.
If your enquiry isn’t directly related to building regulations or building control then unfortunately we may not be able to respond. Please ensure you are contacting the correct service within Salford City Council.
