The telecommunications supplementary planning document (SPD) provides additional guidance for those involved in the planning and design of new telecommunications development.
It explains the council's approach in determining applications for new development concerning telecommunications equipment and seeks to promote good practice and design as well as balance environmental, visual, amenity and health concerns with the future development needs of telecommunications networks.
The telecommunications SPD was originally adopted in July 2007 but has been updated to reflect changes to legislation and guidance that have occurred since the document was first adopted. This updated telecommunications SPD was adopted by Salford City Council on 24 October 2013.
