As part of our drive to improve the outcomes for looked after and previously looked after children, Salford Virtual School Team provide training across a range of subject areas linked to education for school staff, social care colleagues and carers/parents. A list of our current offer is below (sessions are either provided by VST staff, our commissioned partners or a combination of the two):
We are currently looking to expand our offer and this page will be updated as necessary. Do get in touch if you would like to discuss further with the team. Contact details are at the bottom of the page.
We run termly designated teacher network meetings for the senior leader responsible for looked after and previously looked after children in school. These can also be attended by the operational lead, although we strongly advise that this is in addition to the designated teacher.
Primary network meetings are split into two sessions to accommodate larger numbers and to allow for more effective discussion. If you have any queries please get in touch with us at the VST.
We provide training for governing bodies so that they are aware of their statutory responsibilities towards our children and young people. If you have any queries please get in touch with us at the VST.
All sessions are delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams unless otherwise stated
