Homelessness count

Video transcript

In Salford we have a rising problem, as we have within Greater Manchester, with homelessness at the moment. I think it’s really important that politicians get out there and see for themselves what’s going on within our communities.

Government require us to make a return every year, a statutory return, around counting our homelessness numbers that we actually find sleeping rough on our streets. This is about that but it’s also about us trying to understand  what the causal factors are why people are homeless within our community. It’s an absolute disgrace in some respects why this is happening at the moment in society. Today is about trying to understand people's stories and why they are here today.
