These online briefing events are for prospective candidates and their agents in the forthcoming local elections for Salford City Council and the Salford City Mayoral election.
They will provide information on the nomination process and key dates as well as covering recent legislative changes and how we will ensure the safety of staff, candidates and voters.
Following the electoral boundary review in 2019, Salford City Council will be made up of 60 councillors representing 20 wards at the elections being held on Thursday 6 May 2021. All 60 seats will become vacant for the May 2021 local elections.
The local election will be held in conjunction with elections for the Salford City Mayor and the Greater Manchester Mayor.
If you would like to attend one of these briefing sessions, please email the elections team on elections@salford.gov.uk stating whether you are a candidate or an agent (or both) and which briefing you would like to attend. You will then be sent a Microsoft Teams link for the briefing.
These are the new briefing dates. The previous briefings were cancelled following the death of The Duke of Edinburgh, His Royal Highness Prince Philip.
Candidates and their agents may be interested in seeing these three videos which form part of our staff training process for the count. A guide to personal security is also available on the Electoral Commission website.
