Review of polling districts and polling places 2019

You can now find maps showing the new ward boundaries in the downloadable documents section below. For reference these maps also show the current polling stations and the existing polling districts.

On 20 November 2019 Full Council approved the changes to polling districts and polling stations as detailed in the polling district and polling places report (Adobe PDF format, 466kb).

It should be noted that as a Parliamentary General Election is taking place on the 12 December 2019, the electoral register will need to be published on the existing scheme. This is to ensure that polling station information contained on poll cards remains accurate for Election Day. The electoral register will then need to be re-published on 1 January or 1 February 2020, to reflect the new scheme.

In accordance with Section 18c of the Representation of the People Act 1983, Salford City Council is conducting a review of polling districts and polling places.

The Returning Officer will make representations on proposed polling stations.

We welcome representations from electors within the authority area or within a UK Parliamentary constituency which has any part in the authority area on any aspect regarding the council’s proposals for polling districts or polling places.

We also welcome representations from interested persons or groups, particularly those with expertise in disability access issues on the authority’s proposals, the Returning Officer’s representations or any other matter.

Any persons or bodies making representations should, if possible, provide alternative places that may be used as polling places.

Details of the current arrangements are available in the ‘List of polling places’ downloadable document below.
