The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has completed a review of Salford’s ward boundaries. The review has arisen as a result of significant population changes in the city which has resulted in significant variances in the number of people represented by each ward councillor.
The LGBCE carried out an extensive consultation process between 26 June and 3 September 2018 to obtain the views of all interested persons/organisations as to where the ward boundaries should be.
As part of this independent consultation process, after considering the matter at Full Council on 29 August 2018, the council approved a submission setting out its ward boundary proposals. A copy of the council’s submission can be downloaded from the bottom of this page. You can also see a map of the new boundaries by downloading the final recommendation document.
The LGBCE published their draft recommendations as to Salford's ward boundaries which were subject to open public consultation between 6 November 2018 and 14 January 2019.
