Salford looks for strategic partners to continue regeneration boom

Salford City Council is looking for strategic partners to help the city’s regeneration boom continue.

The partners will help the council’s in-house team to provide additional capacity and work with investors and develop opportunities for local people. The partners will also bring innovation to city’s co-operate and transactional services.

Salford has the fastest growing economy in Greater Manchester and contributes £5 billion to the regional economy. This is expected to double in the next 16 years.

It is home to more than 10,000 businesses across many industries, including digital, media and creative alongside professional and financial services, logistics and advanced manufacturing.

Salford’s City Mayor believes the partnership will benefit the whole city by bringing in extra investment and create new jobs. He said: “We are looking to strengthen and enhance our partnerships to support future development work as the city continues to grow.

“Our population is forecast to reach 300,000 by 2040 - this means we need an extra 1,800 homes each and every year. And we have one of the strongest residential markets outside of London.

“The strategic partnership can make sure that local people can be connected to the growth of the city so it does not runaway without our involvement. We want to shape places and strengthen and diversify our economic base for future generations to benefit from.”

Potential Bidders wishing to work with Salford City Council should email giving their organisation name and key strategic reasons for wanting to work with the council.
