Salford Family Information Service (FIS) provides free, impartial, information and advice on services for children and young people from 0 to 19 and their families in Salford.

Information for families of disabled children
Visit the new disabled children web pages to find out about what support, care and advice is available for families and carers. Funding opportunities for short break care services are now available for community and universal services to encourage the inclusion of disabled children in mainstream activities.
Information for parents
The parents page is for anyone looking for advice, support, or information on a variety of subjects, e.g. from activities, health and financial support to child safety and learning and development. Also included are free national advice and support services for parents, the NHS Baby LifeCheck for five to eight month olds, and ways you can participate and make a difference.

Find out about the latest news update for childcare providers including local and national events and initiatives. You can also download the latest Sure Start Matters magazine for providers.

- Find your nearest Sure Start Children's Centre to support you if you have a child under five
- Get advice on help to pay for childcare such as Working Families Tax Credits and childcare vouchers
- Access free early education for three and four year olds with up to 15 hours of provision per week during term-time
- Find out-of-school activities to help children pursue their interests and stay active outside of school hours and during holidays
- Get specialist help and support when you need it, including services for children with special needs, family support and signposting to other organisations
- Start a career working with children, find out what career choices there are, and how we can support you with your training and taster courses
