Parks and gardens of national importance

The Historic England 'register of historic parks and gardens of special historic interest in England' was established in 1983.

It identifies planned or designed landscapes (not those of natural origin) and grades them as I, II * or II (similar to the designation process for listed buildings).

Salford has two registered parks and gardens:

  1. Buile Hill Park, Weaste and Seedley/Langworthy (grade II)
  2. Weaste Cemetery, Weaste and Seedley (grade II)

Further information concerning these designations can be found on the Historic England website. You can search the list in a number of ways, including using a map.
