Foster Carer Parking Permit Scheme

We recognise the vital role our foster carers play in supporting children and young people in Salford. To help make everyday commitments a little easier, we are pleased to offer the Foster Carer Parking Permit Scheme.

What is the scheme?

The scheme provides our approved foster carers with an annual parking permit that can be used in designated Salford City Council pay-and-display car parks.

It is designed to support foster carers when attending appointments, school runs, meetings, and training.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you are:

  • A fully approved foster carer for Salford City Council
  • Actively fostering at the time of application
  • Applying for one permit per fostering household

How to apply

  1. Complete the Foster Carer Parking Permit Application Form (available via your Fostering Social Worker).
  2. Provide your fostering approval details and vehicle information.
  3. Email the completed form to: FinanceFosterCare@Salford.gov.uk

Where can you park?

The permit is valid in the following Salford City Council car parks:

  • Barton Lane Car Park, Eccles (next to fireplace shop), M30 0DD
  • Church Street Car Park, Swinton (front of Gateway – not the staff car park), M27 5AW
