From real world play to numeracy in the primary years, to careers advice and work experience in secondary school. The Department for Education have designed a tool to promote consideration of the four PfA outcomes as part of EHC planning across age ranges. It can be found here: PfA Outcomes Framework
From year 9 onwards settings should place a focus on transition to post 16 in terms of aspirations and intended pathways. This gives young people and families time to really consider options and get a thorough plan in place. 'Back up' plans can also be put in place as many college courses are dependent on grades and considering this in earlier annual reviews gives both setting and school time to focus on the support that might be needed.
Meaningful outcomes around PfA should be tailored towards the goals and aspirations of the young person. There is a PfA outcomes section in the annual review paperwork/HUB but this is often ignored or not completed fully.
