Mid-term transfers (children moving from one provider to another during the term)

Children should ordinarily transfer to a childcare provider or independent school (IS) at the start of a term. If the parent / carer has extenuating circumstances and wishes to request a mid-term transfer, they must complete an online Transfer Request Form. It is the responsibility of the parent/ carer to completing all relevant information and explaining the reason for the transfer request and to submit the completed form to Starting Life Well.

A four week notice period is required to be given to the current childcare provider. However, children can move at the end of a term without notice.

A new Childcare Provider/ (IS) cannot agree to accept a mid term funded place until the transfer form has been approved by the Local Authority. The current and new childcare provider/ (IS) will be contacted to confirm end and start dates. Transfer forms will not be accepted after the move, and funding will remain with the current childcare provider/ (IS) and you will be liable for any childcare costs.

Privately paid childcare places may start or end at any time, subject to contract with your chosen provider/ IS.

Working Parent Entitlement codes must be valid for transfers. Expired or grace period codes cannot be transferred, and the Local Authority cannot override this.
