Humphrey Booth Resource Centre, Swinton
Aspire 2 Age Better, the award-winning volunteer led community group, host a range of activities and events at Humphrey Booth for people aiming to age well, in particular those living with, or caring for someone with, Dementia. The group have activities for all and provide a warm, welcoming space for the whole community.
Monday:
- Moorefield Choir – community choir for over 60s. Every Monday, 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Small charge.
Tuesday:
- Knit 2gether – knit together, chat and relax! Fourth Tuesday of every month, 10.30am to 12pm. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia. Free class.
- Shared Memories – join us to reminiscence and share cherished moments from the past. First Tuesday of month, 11am to 12pm. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia. Free group. Please ring: 0161 607 7101 before attending.
- Epoxy Resin Art – showcase your creativity and craft something new each week. 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Free group. This does not run every Tuesday, so please ring: 0161 607 7101 before attending.
Wednesday
- Music and Dance with Dementia – enjoy a morning filled with dance, music, laughter and lots of good fun! We have a fabulous mix of singers which perform different songs and genres each week. Come along every Wednesday, 11am to 12pm. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia.
- Indoor Kurling – a fun, social activity which is suitable for all levels and abilities. Every Wednesday, 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Free group. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia.
- Tai Chi - Every Wednesday, 3pm to 3.30pm. Free group. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia.
Thursday
- Bingo and Dominoes – play games, reminiscence and meet new people. Every Thursday, 10am to 12pm. Free group. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia.
- Chair Based Exercises - Every Thursday, 1.45pm-2.45pm. Free group. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia.
Friday
- Creative Writing – group for older people to explore their creativity and share and write stories in a supportive environment. First Friday of each month, 10.30am to 12pm. Free group.
- Acrylic Painting – opportunity to show your artistic skills. Every Friday, 1.30pm to 3pm. Free group. Suitable for older people and people living with dementia.

St George's Community Hub, Pendleton

- Cheerleading – get ready to move, groove, and cheer. Every Wednesday 10.30am till 11.30am. £5.50 per session
- Zumba – where fitness meets fun! Improve your fitness whilst learning dance moves in an energetic environment. Suitable for people with learning disabilities. Every other Wednesday 1.30pm to 2.30pm. £6.50 per session.
Thursday
- Box Fit – step into the ring at our boxing group, learn boxing techniques and have fun whilst getting fit. Every Thursday 10.30am till 11.30am. £6 per session.
- Sign and Sing – learn and practice signing to music in a supportive, fun environment. Perfect for all levels from beginners to experienced. Suitable for people with learning disabilities. Every Thursday 1.30pm to 2.30pm. £6 per session.

- Baking – whip up delicious new treats every session. Suitable for people with learning disabilities and older people. Every Friday 10.30am to 11.30am. £6.50 per session.

Alexandra Community Hub, Eccles
Alexandra Community Hub is located on Liverpool Road in Eccles and supports people living with learning disabilities, dementia and older people.
The ‘Alex’ day services are available by referral only, and offer people a warm and welcoming place to meet others, enjoy a hot nutritious meal, and take part in a range of social activities.
We share life skills and knowledge on health and wellbeing to promote independence and choice for each individual. We also offer personal care facilities, including bathing assistance, and have an onsite physiotherapy suite with visiting physiotherapists and other health services.
Our dedicated team provides a friendly but professional environment and helps everyone who comes through the doors to have fun, make new friendships and feel a part of their local community.

Brierley Community Hub and Café offers a warm welcome to the Walkden and Little Hulton communities. Located on Longshaw Drive, within walking distance of the Salford Primary Care Together medical centre and the Salford West Family Hub.
Brierley Community Hub offers day services are available by referral to people with learning disabilities and older people, with a varied programme of activities on offer. The hub provides support to the wider community via social groups, activities, and the onsite community cafe serving delicious home-cooked meals, sweet treats, and refreshments.

The Humphrey Booth Resource Centre is a warm and welcoming community hub, and home to our dementia-friendly Forget Me Not Café.
Located in Swinton, we support our local community, in particular people with dementia and their carers, older people, and people with learning disabilities. We offer a full programme of activities to help provide opportunities for social inclusion, improving wellbeing, practical and emotional support, and much more.
Humphrey Booth Resource Centre has a range of rooms and spaces available for hire to community groups, health care professionals, or wellbeing services – including our informal café area and a selection of professionally equipped meeting rooms. Our Poppy Dementia Day Centre is also based here, which is available by referral only.

Waterside specialist support
Waterside is our Autism Accredited specialist support centre, located in Clifton, which provides day support to people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex disabilities or other health needs. Support is available by referral only.
At Waterside, we aim to motivate, promote self-esteem and encourage personal growth. We use tailored person-centered support plans to ensure everyone is able to achieve their own outcomes and goals, offering a wide range of activities and services to meet the needs of individuals.
We have a dedicated, highly skilled workforce, who work in partnership with other professionals, including direct access to physiotherapists, dieticians, clinical nurses, speech and language therapists, and autism and communication leads allowing for a holistic approach to the care provided.

Our Community cafés offer a range of tasty, nutritious snacks, lunches, and sweet treats in a welcoming, friendly environment.
All our cafes are open to the public, fully accessible, and have free Wi-Fi. They are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm.
The dementia-friendly ‘Forget Me Not’ Cafe is located in the Humphrey Booth Resource Centre, Swinton, St George’s cafe is based in Pendleton within St George’s Hub, and Brierley Cafe is based in Little Hulton within Brierley Community Hub.
