You can apply online for a Selective Licence by following the three step process below. Guidance notes for each step are available at the bottom of the page.
You do not need to wait for Step 1 to be completed before completing Step 2.
Step 1: Register the manager of the property
The manager of the property should complete this section. This may be an employed 'Managing Agent' or the landlord if they manage their own property.
Once the manager is registered, you will be given an ID number, this will be needed to complete step 3.
The manager will need to send in a Basic Disclosure, obtained in the last three months. You obtain this directly from Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and the fee is £21.50.
When the manager of the property has their Basic Disclosure they will need to send the DBS to us either by using the secure upload page or post it to us.
The secure upload online form asks for some basic information including name of child family or adult or subject of email(required). In this section please type: Landlord Licensing and your property manager reference (six digit number).
For the tick box, please choose 'other' and type in email address – so landlord.licensing@salford.gov.uk
If you prefer to post the original copy, please send to:

You must let certain persons know in writing that you have made this application and give them certain information. Please see the guidance notes: Apply for a HMO Licence below, for further information on who you need to give information to and what information you need to give them.
It is in the public interest that we process your application before it can be granted. If you have not heard from us within one month of making an application you should contact us.
