The prevention of crime and disorder |
We have CCTV surveillance cameras installed in and outside the shop we have 2 big spot lights on the exterior of the building the surrounding area is also very well lit making it hard for criminals to operate unnoticed. Employees are all uniformed and visible and engaged to help reduce crime theft and vandalism. Staff will be trained on how to report suspicious behaviour and also how to look out for suspicious behaviour. |
Public safety |
To maintain a secure and welcoming environment for customers during the evening and night time operations by implementing proactive security measures such as staff training CCTV cameras inside and outside the shop emergency protocols and effective communications to minimise risk and ensure the safety of the customers in the shop. We will regularly train our staff on how to resolve and minimise conflict identifying suspicious behaviour and emergency response procedures. Security in the evening is also a major aspect and we have installed CCTV cameras inside and outside the shop and to keep an eye on any potential crime we have also 2 large spot lights which cover outside the shop which increases visibility and safety. Our emergency procedures are to establish clear and accessible emergency exits alarms and safety procedures in case of an accident we will make sure all our employees are familiar with these protocols. Our staff are also trained for clear communication this means in the event of an emergency staff will have access to phones who can either call the management or emergency services e.g. the police or ambulance. Clear signage will be displayed for customers for example wet floor sign will be displayed when cleaning procedures start. |
The prevention of public nuisance |
Our staff will be trained to prioritise walk in customers over the online system to prevent customers hanging around in store and making noise. Late night we will ensure our front door is closed so no noise from inside the shop will go out at late night. Staff will be visible and ready for customers in case the customer needs anything. Our shop has no seating so there will be no loitering policy which means no hanging around in or around the shop. We will keep a good relationship with out community and neighbours and frequently ask if they have any issues with our shop. There will be no radio music or any other entertainment coming from the shop after 9pm. |
The protection of children from harm |
We will ensure the staff are aware of the local child protection reporting procedures. Train staff to know what to do in the event of an emergency whether that's a child becoming separate from their guardian or an incident involving unsafe behaviour or any other urgent situations. The shop will be well lit inside and out with CCTV cameras in case any suspicious behaviour is taking place involving a child and our staff will be well trained to report the local emergency services at the right time. |
