We are an existing cafe/bistro and have operated from the premises for 8+ years. We are well established in the local community and known for our quality food and service. Currently we are open until 2.30pm (Monday - Saturday) but are looking to open in the evenings (including Sundays) to help the business boost sales.

The prevention of crime and disorder

A CCTV system will be installed and maintained in working order, covering all public areas inside and immediately outside the premises. Footage will be retained for at least 28 days and made available to the police upon request.

A refusals log and incident log will be kept and regularly reviewed. These will record any incidents involving disorder, ejections, or refusals of alcohol sales.

Staff will receive training on conflict management and responsible alcohol retailing. Training will be refreshed every 6 months and documented.

The premises will operate a Challenge 25 policy, requiring customers who appear under 25 to show valid ID before purchasing alcohol.

Public safety

All staff will be trained in emergency procedures, including evacuation, fire safety, and first aid.

Fire exits and escape routes will be clearly marked and kept unobstructed at all times. 

Regular risk assessments will be conducted and any necessary actions will be taken to address identified hazards.

A first aid kit will be maintained on-site and staff will know its location.

The prevention of public nuisance

Signs will be displayed at exits asking customers to leave quietly and respect neighbouring residents.

A dispersal policy will be implemented to ensure that patrons leave the premises in a calm and orderly manner.

Deliveries and waste collection will be scheduled during daytime hours to minimise disturbance.

The protection of children from harm

Alcohol will not be sold to anyone under 18 years old and staff will be trained to recognise and refuse underage sales.

A Challenge 25 policy will be enforced, requiring ID from anyone who appears under 25. Accepted forms of ID will be a passport, photocard driving licence, or PASS-accredited ID.

Children will only be allowed on the premises during appropriate hours and only when accompanied by an adult.
