Abandoned vehicles

It is the responsibility of the council to deal with, and provide, an abandoned vehicle service within the confines of the city of Salford.

What legislation does the council use?

Abandoned vehicles are removed under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 Sections 3 and 4 and the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

How to report an abandoned vehicle

We will need the:

• location
• registration number
• car make, model and colour
• length of time it has been there (if known)
