City of Trees (formerly Red Rose Forest) is set to reinvigorate Greater Manchester’s landscape by restoring underused, unloved woodland.
They will also plant a tree for every man, woman and child that lives in the City Region, within a generation.
Trees deliver a whole range of benefits, which makes them an essential part of the future of any city. From creating healthier, happier communities to helping to tackle climate change, reconnecting our children to the natural world and providing essential habitats for wildlife, the arguments for trees are clear.
Initiated by The Oglesby Charitable Trust and Community Forest Trust, this ambitious movement is securing a much greener, more resilient and pleasant environment that everyone can enjoy.
