The guidance notes below will help you complete the Local Communities Together Funding application form.
For up to £500 funding
You can add a short written statement or principles about the overall aims and objectives of your organisation. These should cover what your organisation has set out to achieve.
For over £500 funding
A formal constitution is required and must be signed by your organisation’s current chairperson.p>
Assistance is available for developing a constitution via Salford CVS.
Attach a copy of your public liability insurance if appropriate.
Public Liability Insurance will help protect your organisation if a claim is made against you, for example if something happens that results in an injury to a visitor, volunteer, or member of the public who attend your activities or participate in your projects or work.
It will protect your business against damage and the cost of legal claims people make against you if you’ve done something that’s resulted in injury to a member of the public or damage to their property.
Please tell us in this section of the application form if you carry out DBS checks for your staff/volunteers. If you don’t carry these out please tell us why and how you know your service is safe
Please attached a copy of your organisations most recent bank statement.
If your application for funding is successful, Salford City Council will send funding to your account by Banker’s Automated Clearing System (BACS).
This is a direct, safe automatic transfer of payment, made from one account to another, and has no charges attached. Payments can be traced and confirmed electronically by either party.
BACS can only be paid to your organisation’s bank account and not an individual’s bank account.
Your bank details are not shared with other organisations.
If your organisation does not have its own bank account, please contact the Neighbourhood Development Officer to discuss alternative options.
If funding is returned to the council, it can be easily returned via BACS and is again recorded and a safe way to move money.

In this table, complete the contact details of the two people who will be responsible for the grant funding.
One of the contacts should be the person who manages the budget spending and is responsible for the accounts, procurement of any services and items required. They need to keep accounts on the project spending. They will be asked to submit evidence of how the funding was used. This may be your formal treasurer or a person who handles money on your organisation’s behalf.
Salford City Council MUST ensure all organisations supported via Local Communities Together Funding comply with all statutory requirements under the Equality Act and accordingly its practice not to treat one group of people less favourably than others because of age, disability, gender re assignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or beliefs, sex and sexual orientation. Please clearly indicate in this section of the application form which groups of people your project/activity/event is open to.
Tell us about the target audience or participants taking part. They may be children or young people, a specific group, volunteers or the general public. If possible, give numbers likely to attend.
Tell us about who your project is open too and and how you intend to promote your project to ensure it is inclusive to all members of the community
Summarise your project, grab our attention quickly. Think about a headline statement you would use to explain your project to a friend or colleague - get straight to the point.
Don’t describe past projects in too much detail - focus on this one.
Outline why the project is important to you and your participants. Be honest and factual.
How will you manage the project overall?
How will you measure your success in delivering the project?
Include a general timeline, with project phases and milestones?
What exactly are you spending the funding on?
Ask someone else to look for errors and missing details in the summary.
Be proud of your ambitions and let this show in your statement.
Does your project promote health, wellbeing, inclusion and creativity in your community? For example you may help your volunteers to develop a wide range of skills and help them to befriend others in the community, in turn this will support their overall health and wellbeing and mental health, or you may be looking to set up an exercise or movement class.
Does the project improve community safety for residents in your area? Are you trying to reduce the anti-social behaviour in your area through this project? It could be you are a community café for elderly residents, but you invite the local police in to give safety and security advice or give out equipment for their safety, or you are starting to run classes for younger people and hold sessions to increase community cohesion between distinct groups.

Applying for funds for your group
Fill in the table giving accurate project costs and where any existing funding will come from (see example row below).
Ensure the total costs add up to the amount you are requesting.

If successful with your grant, please keep all quotes and receipts.
Please provide a breakdown of the financial assistance required including items of expenditure and their estimated costs. Neighbourhood Devolved Budgets will not support more than 75% of the total cost of the project/activity/event for which financial assistance is requested.
Match funding in kind may be provided to meet the 25% match funding required.
This may include volunteer time, free room hire, free use of equip etc.
