6Matters Arising

(a) Minute 56 refers - The enclosed report sets out options for varying the dates when the Committee meets so as to enable meetings to take place when schools are not on holiday and , hence , to be held at local schools

(b)Minute 64 refers - The Area Co-Ordinator has investigated the arrangements for companies filming in the City to make a contribution to the renovation of the area in which they are filming and determined that monies paid by filming companies are ordinarily paid to the land owner or anyone being inconvenienced and, therefore, that there are already arrangements in place where the Council owns land.

7Community Justice in Salford Initiative

The Committee will receive a presentation on this new system which is being piloted in Eccles and receive details of an event to be held in Buile Hill in March .

8Patient and Public Involvement in Mental Health Services

The Committee will receive a short presentation on the role of mental health services in Salford and on the need to involve both service users and the wider community in decisions concerning the future development of services

(a)To consider any recommendations made by the Budget Sub Group at their meeting on 31st January , 2006,

11Items for Information

(a) As Members may be aware the Salford PCT have developed proposals for revising healthcare services in the area which covers Salford . This would include , amongst other things , closing the neo-natal and maternity services and the special baby care unit which currently operate at Hope Hospital .
The Consultation document on this subject is substantial . Members with internet access can study the full document at www.bestforhealth.nhs.uk. A copy will be available at the meeting and an overview of the proposals is enclosed.
Salford City Council , at its meeting on 18th January , 2006 , resolved unanimously to do everything in its power to prevent the closures. Councillors hope that community representatives will support this approach and would encourage the completion of the response form which is enclosed with the agenda . Members may also wish to take part in the public consultation meetings details of which are enclosed.

(b)Copies of the Swinton Newsletter will be available at the meeting

(c)Arising from Minute 45 of the meeting held on 11th October, 2005, the Area Co-Ordinator will give details of sites in Swinton where problems with motorcycles have occured and of likely national policies to deal with the problem .
