5Matters Arising

(a) Minute 14 refers : the Committee will be given brief details of the schemes considered by the Local Environment Task Group for possible funding under the devolved Highways Budget

(b) Minute 16 refers : To note that the Swinton High School has expressed appreciation of the Committee's action in helping to fund the post of a Schools- Based Police Officer.

6Road Safety Committees

The Committee is asked to consider allowing the Local Environment Task Group to take on the role of the proposed Road Safety Committee and to nominate two community representatives onto that Task Group

7Coalfields Communities Campaign

Anton Schultz of Groundwork Salford and Trafford Trust will give an update on the Campaign and a presentation on completed schemes

8Newlands/LIVIA Projects

Tim Jones , Principal Planner (Environment and Projects ) , will give an update so as to assist the Committee in monitoring progress on these projects .
9Summer Activities

The Neighbourhood Manager will report on the programme of summer activities which have been taking place in Swinton .
10Budget Sub - Group.

(a)To consider any recommendations made by the Budget Sub Group at their meeting on 15th August , 2006,

(b)To note the financial statement as at 31st July, 2006 .

(c) To consider the proposed Protocol for Grant Applications .

(a)The latest issue of the Swinton Newsletter is in production . Members are encouraged to submit any articles to the Neighbourhood Manager by 1st September , 2006 .

(b) Rethinking Housing : A copy of the Housing Strategy Consultation Newsletter is enclosed with the agenda .
12Any Other Business

(a) Community Representatives may raise any issues of concern to their area or group

(b) Ward Councillors may raise any item not already covered .
