1Staffing Arrangements

Interviews are being held in February for a new Neighbourhood Manager for the Swinton area. Pending an appointment being made cover will be provided by Angie Taylor , former Neighbourhood Manager for Little Hulton , and Tracey Jacobs, Community Development Worker .
Inspector Robert Findlow is to transfer to the Swinton GMP Sector as a successor for Inspector Hughes.

6Matters Arising
7Community Arts Officer

A six-month placement has been secured for a Community Arts Officer for the Swinton Area. Brian Raymond will introduce himself and outline proposals for the future.
8100th Anniversary of the Scouting Movement

Paul Brighouse, District Commissioner, together with a teenage Explorer Leader, will make a presentation on the activities of the Scouting Movement and it's relationship with the wider community.
9Outcome of consultation regarding Pedestrian Facilities - A6 Chorley Road/Manchester Road

A consultation exercise generated a positive response to a proposal to introduce pedestrian facilities on Chorley Road/Manchester Road. The response, whilst positive, was low and the opinions of Members on the enclosed proposals are now sought.

(a)Enclosed are details of a Campaign which has been introduced to deal with the problem of off-road bikes being driven on the playing fields at Bolton Road.
(b)Enclosed are details of the Respect Programme which seeks to encourage local agencies and local people to work together to foster a society where people have more respect for one another and their communities
(c)The Minutes of the meeting of the SOSCA Steering Group held on 11th January , 2007, are enclosed
