6Highways Capital Programme - Update

Angie Taylor will give an update on the schemes which the Environment Task Group consider might be funded under the Highways Capital Programme

7Swinton Community Action Plan, 2008

Members will be asked to consider the draft copy of the CAP for 2008 / 2009 which is enclosed as a separate document . Enclosed also are details of the non-strategic items which were removed from the CAP in a effort to create a document with clear priorities that will guide budget decisions .

9Budget Sub - Group.

(a) To consider the recommendations made by the Budget Sub Group on 25th September , 2007,
(b) Enclosed is a report on the progress of the School Based Police Officer post towards which the Committee , at their meeting on 11th April , 2006 , agreed to contribute £5,000 . The Committee is asked to consider if they want to continue supporting the post. There is a commitment for one more financial year of £5,000 in £2008-09 ;and
(c)To note the financial statement as at , 2007 .

10Salford Garden Party

Members who took part in , or attended , the Salford Garden Party on Saturday 15th September,2007 ,on the Lawns at the front of the Salford Civic Centre may wish to comment on the event.
11Items for Information

(a)Rail Station Proposals and Progress - the report of Sustainable Transport Working Group is enclosed for information . Any comments by Members will be referred back to the Group .
(b)Aspire to Enterprise! - enclosed are details of a scheme to support adults who would like to learn more about business.
( c ) The draft Supplementary Planning Document: Design (SPD) sets out key guidelines to enhance the quality and distinctiveness of places when building in Salford. The enclosed note sets out the arrangements for commenting upon the SPD . Some of the guidance in the document relates specifically to Swinton and the Principal Urban Designer has arranged a small Workshop, which will give Ward Councillors and /or Community Representatives who may be interested in this subject the opportunity to discuss the merits of the guidance and where it can be improved with City Council planning officers who cover this area of the city. The Workshop will be held between 5pm - 7pm on Monday 15th October in the Gallery Room at Swinton Library on Chorley Road . It would be helpful if any Member could indicate if they would be interested in taking part in the Workshop either by reporting at the meeting or contacting Simon Glynn on 0161 793 2290
(d)Details of changes to the door-to-door collection service for recycled waste are enclosed.
(e)The minutes of the SOSCA Steering Group held on 20th September, 2007, are enclosed along with the terms of reference of that Group.
