5Matters Arising

Minute 3 refers - Christine Sigurnjak has confirmed her continuing membership of the Community Committee as a representative of the Swinton Public Transport Users Group.

Minute 4 refers - The Committee is asked to select a community representative from the Swinton South Ward to serve on the Budget Sub Group

Minute 12 refers - On 30th June , 2008, the Lead Member for the Environment approved a scheme for the corner of Agecroft Road/Lumns Lane which will enhance the area and provide an improved facility for local children.

On 15th July , 2008, the Lead Member for Planning approved improvements to the Lumns Lane/ Agecroft Road Junction comprising provision of (a) a traffic signal controlled junction with signal controlled pedestrian crossing facilities , (b) cyclist facilities, including a shared footway / cycle track surface and cycle lanes in Agecroft Road, (c) a loading / unloading lay-by, a parking lay-by and residents' parking facilities., (d) associated construction / renewal / installation of footways, carriageway, lay-bys, highway drainage, high friction surfacing, road markings and signage and (e) upgrading street lighting. The works should commence in August and be completed by December , 2008

Minute 18 refers - The Neighbourhood Manager will submit a provisional schedule of themes/venues for future meetings

Minute 25 refers - The Neighbourhood Manager will submit details of the level of usage and incidence of vandalism at the telephone boxes currently located at Moorside Road, Swinton, and Manchester Road, Clifton

10Arrangements for Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Community Committee will be held on 14th October , 2008, and will discuss the theme of Older People

So as to ensure that those persons with an interest in the subject are willing to attend Members are asked to consider if they wish to hold the meeting at the earlier time of 12.30 pm with lunch provided. The venue for the meeting has not yet been determined.
